Pennsylvania History & Genealogy

Pennsylvania, one of the middle Atlantic states, is bounded on the north by New York and Lake Erie; on the east by New Jersey, from which it is separated in part by the Delaware River; on the south by Delaware, Maryland, and West Virginia; and on the west by Ohio. It lies between about 39º 43′ and 42º 16′ north latitude, and between 74º 41′ and 80º 31′ west longitude. The state measures about 160 miles from north to south and about 280 miles from east to west. It contains approximately 46,055 square miles, or 29,475,000 acres.

This state project is part of the much larger American History & Genealogy Project or better known by the abbreviation of AHGP. It has been in existence online since 2000 and over the years has been spread out across the web. These pages are an attempt to consolidate it under one website of the larger project.
