Nebraska, one of the central United States, is bounded on the north by South Dakota; on the east by Iowa and Missouri, from which it is separated in part by the Missouri River; on the south by Kansas and Colorado; and on the west by Wyoming and Colorado. It lies between about 40º and 43º north latitude, and between 95º 19′ and 104º west longitude. The state measures about 210 miles from north to south and about 430 miles from east to west. It contains approximately 77,348 square miles, or 49,502,720 acres.
This state project is part of the much larger American History & Genealogy Project or better known by the abbreviation of AHGP.
