Colorado, one of the western states of the United States, is bounded on the north by Wyoming and Nebraska; on the east by Nebraska and Kansas; on the south by New Mexico and Oklahoma; and on the west by Utah. It lies between approximately 37º and 41º north latitude, and between 102º and 109º 3′ west longitude. Colorado is unique in being nearly rectangular in shape, measuring about 380 miles from east to west and 280 miles from north to south. It contains an area of approximately 104,094 square miles, or 66,620,160 acres.
This state project is part of the much larger American History & Genealogy Project or better known by the abbreviation of AHGP.
