Oregon, one of the Pacific states, is bounded on the north by Washington, from which it is separated in part by the Columbia River; on the east by Idaho; on the south by Nevada and California; and on the west by the Pacific Ocean. It lies between about 42º and 46º 15′ north latitude, and between 116º 28′ and 124º 33′ west longitude. The state measures about 295 miles from north to south and about 395 miles from east to west. It contains approximately 98,379 square miles, or 62,964,000 acres.
This state project is part of the much larger American History & Genealogy Project or better known by the abbreviation of AHGP.
