Mendocino County is situated on the sea-coast, about 35 miles north of Mendocino City. The manufacture of lumber is the principal industry of this section; but stock-raising and farming are also carried on to some extent.

Wilmington P O
Los Angeles County is situated 387 miles by water south-east of San Francisco, and 21 miles by rail south of the City of Los Angeles. It is the sea port of the latter place, and a shipping point for a large quantity of produce raised in the surrounding country. It has excellent wharves, and substantial warehouses. Trains leave twice a day for Los Angeles. Communication is maintained with San Francisco by the Pacific Coast S. S. Co.
