FUNERAL SERVICES FOR HIGH-
LY RESPECTED GILES COUNTY
WOMAN THIS AFTERNOON
Mrs. Sam Smith, [Jennie Lee McMahon] one of the most highly
respected and most beloved women of the Lynnville community, died Friday
afternoon at 2:30 at the King's Daughters hospital here, where she has
been ill for the past two months. She was a member of one of the most
prominent families of Giles County, and had a host of friends in this
section who will be grieved to learn of her death. She was a devout
member of the Presbyterian church.
She is survived by her husband, and the following children, Miss Mary
Lee Smith, Miss Frances Smith, and Will Smith, her father, Tom McMahon,
sisters, Mrs. R. R. Bradley of Lynnville, Mrs. Lee Wiggs of Fayetteville,
Mrs Erskine Reed of St. Louis, and Mrs. W. H. Fleming of Atlanta.
The funeral services will be conducted at three o'clock this afternoon
by Rev. R. S. Brown, of Petersburg, at the Lynnville Presbyterian Church,
with interment in Linwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Sam Smith, one of the most prominent and beloved women of Lynnville,
died Friday afternoon at the King's Daughter's hospital, following an
illness of several weeks.
The body was removed to Lynnville where funeral services were conducted
Saturday afternoon by Rev. R. S. Brown, of Petersburg, at the Presbyterian
church.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Giles county and a member of a widely known
family. She was a devoted member of the Presbyterian church and was
beloved by a wide circle of friends.
She is survived by her husband and three children, also her father, Tom
McMahon, and four sisters.
Interment was in Linwood cemetery at Lynnville.
