Brownsville, Linn County, PO 22 miles
south east of Albany, is an important manufacturing
locality on the Calapooia River, and is the centre of
trade for a large and flourishing agricultural district.
Here are located the extensive mills of the Eagle Woolen
Manufacturing Co , also a sash and door factory, a
flouring mill, and other establishments. The town
contains the usual business houses, churches, schools,
public halls, etc. It is six miles east of Halsey, the
nearest station on the Oregon and California Railroad.
